Welcome to Forbes Primary School

Forbes Primary School is located on Thomas Street, South Plympton diagonally opposite the Forbes Shopping Centre on Marion Road. The site has been providing quality public education since 1952. The school has over 4 hectares of land. The spacious grounds are a legacy of the large student numbers in its founding days. In fact it still holds the record as the largest primary school in the state?s history peaking at 1800 students in the late 1950s. A number of the current population are third generation students of Forbes!

The Forbes School community is diverse, drawing from a range of families who come from various linguistic, socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. The community is justly proud of its diversity, its commitment to meeting the current and future needs of students and to participatory decision-making where staff, students and parents work together to meet our goals. In 2010 the Forbes Children?s Centre was officially opened on the site and education and care services have been extended providing health and parenting courses, child care, preschool and out of school hours care as well as schooling from Reception ? Year 7. It is now a ?one-stop shop? for quality care and education for children/ students aged from 3 months to 13 years.
